Agro-forestry-fishery trade surplus doubled in 7 months

In the first 7 months of the year, exports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached about 32.3 billion USD while imports were 26 billion USD. Thus, the trade surplus of agriculture, forestry and fishery reached nearly 6.3 billion USD, an increase of nearly 2 times compared to the same period in 2021.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 7 months of the year, the total import-export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products was estimated at about 58.3 billion USD, up 7% over the same period in 2021.

In which, the export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached about 32.3 billion USD, up 12% over the same period last year; import is estimated at 26 billion USD, up 2%. Thus, the trade surplus of agriculture, forestry and fishery reached nearly 6.3 billion USD, an increase of nearly 2 times compared to the same period in 2021.

Specifically, in July, export turnover was estimated at 4.8 billion USD, up 10% compared to July 2021 but down 2% compared to June. Among them, the export value of main agricultural products was nearly 2 billion USD, main forest products are estimated at 1.4 billion USD, fishery is 965 million USD and livestock is 42 million USD…

Generally in the first 7 months of the year, the export of main agricultural products reached 13.3 billion USD, up 8%; main forest products reached over 10.4 billion USD, up 1%; seafood is estimated at nearly 6.7 billion USD, up 34%; livestock production is estimated at 225.6 million USD, down 12%; Export of production input products was nearly 1.7 billion USD, up 67%.

Currently, the agricultural industry has 4 products, product groups with export value reaching over 2 billion USD, including coffee, rice, shrimp, and wood products.
