Pepper prices today are in the range of 67,000 – 71,000 VND / kg

Today’s pepper prices in the domestic market were traded at VND 67,000 – 71,000 / kg in localities.

Specifically, today’s pepper price in Gia Lai was the lowest in the market at VND67,000 / kg.

Today’s pepper prices in Dong Nai provinces (68,000 VND / kg); Dak Nong, Dak Lak (69,500 VND / kg); Binh Phuoc (70,0000 VND / kg) and Ba Ria – Vung Tau were at the highest threshold of 71,000 VND / kg.

However, the selling price of pepper on the market is higher than the reference price. Compared to 1 month ago, the price of pepper in the country decreased from 7,000 to 10,000 VND / kg. But if compared with the same period in 2020, the current pepper price nearly doubled.

According to an expert from the Vietnam Pepper Association, in recent days, pepper prices have decreased partly because Vietnam has reached the end of the harvest and pepper output has increased.

In addition, after pouring money to buy pepper to meet the orders signed before, a number of agents, traders, and short-term speculators stopped to “listen” to the market. This makes transactions, purchase and sale of pepper in the market quiet.

However, the fact that pepper prices went up and down “fluctuated” over the past time made farmers feel more or less happy.

On the world market, at the end of the most recent session, the spot price of pepper at Kochi – India was 40,775 rupees / quintal (highest) and 40,066.65 rupees / quintal (the lowest), down sharply compared to that of previous session.

The cross rate of Vietnam dong against the Indian Rupee (INR) on April 17 was applied by the State Bank to calculate the export tax and import tax of 305.88 VND / INR.
