The Development of organic agriculture for the period 2020-2030 sets the target that by 2025, the total area for development of organic agriculture will reach 1.5-2% of the total agricultural land area and by 2030 will reach 2, 5-3%. Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam said that this is a very difficult and not easy goal, because organic agricultural production cannot be developed or developed within a day and must be managed.

It is necessary to identify key seedlings, identify areas and locations for organic production ”, emphasized Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam.

Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam also asked functional units to manage organic products in the market, to re-establish the organic product market. “Growing with management, not letting organic products spread on the market without certification. State management functions must be manageable ”, stated Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam.

In addition, the functional unit must also manage the inputs; facilitate support for domestic certification bodies at reasonable costs; early training courses on organic agriculture, not only for farmers and cooperatives but also for managers.

According to Mr. Ha Phuc Mich, Chairman of the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association, since the policy in Decree 109/2018 / ND-CP was implemented, there has been a large demand for commodity production from hundreds to thousands. thousand hectares, because the market for organic produce is still very open, both domestically and for export.

Large production inevitably requires professional organic agricultural materials supply services, such as: fertilizers, animal feed, herbal medicine, biology … National standard TCVN 11041: 2017/2018 8 standards have been issued but not enough. To apply correctly and easily to manufacturers, the authorities need to issue a detailed list of input materials, said Mr. Ha Phuc Mich.

The area of organic cultivation increased from 53,350 ha in 2016 to about 237,700 ha in 2019. The whole country has about 46/63 provinces and cities implementing and having an organic production movement. The number of organic producers is 97; participating in exporting are 60 enterprises with a turnover of about 335 million USD / year.
