The General Department of Customs (Ministry of Finance) has issued Official Letter 3776 / TCHQ-GSQL on the use of foreign codes and barcodes for exported goods. Accordingly, when carrying out customs procedures for exported goods, customs officers do not require customs declarants to produce written certification of competent agencies on the use of foreign barcode. .

Customs declarants are responsible before the law for the use of foreign codes and bar codes attached to goods or packaging of exported products.

Therefore, the enterprise only needs to present evidence that has been authorized by the foreign enterprise or foreign agency to print the bar code symbol on the product, not the confirmation of the General Department of Quality Measurement (Ministry of Science and Technology). and Technology) as before, and businesses are responsible before the law for the documents provided.

The General Department of Customs also requires the customs authorities not to impose penalties for administrative violations related to the use of foreign bar codes or bar codes attached to exported goods.

In case of detecting that the enterprise does not have a foreign power of attorney, the customs office will notify the General Department of Quality Measurement to know how to handle it according to regulations.
