Especially due to the effects of the Covid 19 epidemic, it has greatly affected the export of pangasius in markets such as China, the United States, some countries of the European community, Korea … these are also big markets. and the key of pangasius export.

Pangasius export turnover to March 30 reached 334 million USD, down 29.3% over the same period in 2019.

Delegates attending the conference said that export turnover will decrease, especially this year will reduce much compared to 2019.

Due to the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, markets such as the United States, Europe, South Korea … cannot recover immediately after the outbreak.

For the Chinese market, there has been a signal of recovery, but this is an unstable, high-risk market, although this market accounts for more than 30% of Vietnam's total pangasius export. Male.

In the short term, it is necessary to recover quickly, the Chinese market will resolve the current inventory. Re-evaluate potential consumption markets such as the US, Europe, … to make appropriate adjustments for 2021 and the long term.

At the same time, it is necessary to promote the quality of the fish industry, improve the quality of seed … Besides, it is necessary to support businesses to increase trade promotion to expand new markets. In particular, to build distribution channels for the domestic market.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development emphasized: “In the immediate future, this May and June must focus on the Chinese market, focusing on removing, including the Ministry, in coordination with industry and trade. including border provinces, including border gates … industry associations in cooperation with enterprises.
