According to calculations from the International Trade Commission (ITC) statistics, China's pepper imports in the first 11 months of 2019 reached 10.7 thousand tons, worth US $ 36.42 million, up 97.6 % in volume and up 41.8% in value compared to the first 11 months of 2018.

The average import price of Chinese pepper in the first 11 months of 2019 reached US $ 3,403 per ton, down 28.2% compared to the first 11 months of 2018.

In particular, the average import price of Chinese pepper from Indonesia reached 3,473 USD / ton; Vietnam reached 2,573 USD / ton; Malaysia reached 3,530 USD / ton; Brazil reached 2,374 USD / ton; India reached 4,850 USD / ton.

In the first 11 months of 2019, China increased import of pepper from Indonesia, Vietnam, Brazil, India, Italy and Austria, but reduced imports from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong.

Specifically, Indonesia is the largest source of pepper for China, reaching 4.2 thousand tons, valued at US $ 14.74 million in the first 11 months of 2019, up 361% in volume and 286.1% in value compared to with 11 months of 2018.

Indonesia's market share of total pepper in China increased from 12% in the first 11 months of 2018, to 40% in the first 11 months of 2019.

Indonesia's pepper processing industry is now very developed with high quality pepper products, bringing high economic efficiency. The share of white pepper exports accounts for 80% of total Indonesian pepper exports.

Update coffee prices

Today's coffee price in the Central Highlands has dropped by VND 200 / kg. For the whole region, the price of coffee fluctuated in the range of 30,400 – 30,800 VND / kg. In particular, the price of coffee in Lam Dong province is the lowest and highest in Dak Lak, according to giacaphe.com.
