According to preliminary statistics of the Vietnam Pepper Association, by the end of October 2019, Vietnam exported 254,583 tons of all kinds of pepper, including 228,233 tons of black pepper and 26,350 tons of white pepper, the total export turnover reached 644, 1 million USD, black pepper gained 564.5 million USD, white pepper gained 79.6 million USD.

Compared to the same period in 2018, exports increased by 21.1% in volume to 44,302 tons, but export turnover decreased by 7.0%. In particular, whole black pepper export: 197,943 tons, worth 466.1 million USD; ground black pepper: 28,628 tons, valued at 96.1 million USD; whole white pepper: 22,576 tons, valued at 65.7 million USD; ground white pepper: 3,774 tons, worth US $ 13.9 million; green, red pepper, nail tips: 1,662 tons, valued at 2.3 million USD. The average export price of black pepper reached US $ 2,473 / ton, white pepper reached US $ 3,019 / ton. In comparison with the same period, export price of black pepper decreased by 662 USD and white pepper decreased by 1,556 USD.

In the first 10 months of 2019, Tran Chau is the leading enterprise in exporting black and white pepper with a total export of 27,159 tons, accounting for 10.67% of total Vietnam's pepper export. Followed by Phuc Sinh enterprises exporting 17,817 tons, accounting for 7.0%; Olam exported 16,277 tons, accounting for 6.39%; Nedspice exported 12,969 tons, accounting for 5.09%; Haprosimex JSC exported 12,256 tons, accounting for 4.81%; , … The leading enterprises in exporting white pepper: Tran Chau 3,060 tons, Olam 3,023 tons, Import and Export trade 1,936 tons, Lien Thanh 1,406 tons, Hoang Gia Luan 1,311 tons, Phuc Sinh 1,105 tons, … Block of enterprises in VPA exporting 178,585 tons, accounting for 70.15% of total Vietnam's pepper exports.

China is still the largest import market of Vietnam Pepper in the first 10 months of 2019, but the import volume in the recent 2 months is only around 800 tons. Total imports of China reached 54,649 tons, an increase of 22,991 tons, accounting for 21.46% of total Vietnam's pepper export. The second largest US import was 43,102 tons, an increase of 5,034 tons and accounted for 16.9%. Followed by Indian markets imported 17,785 tons, down 72 tons; Germany imported 9,605 tons, up 2,567 tons; Arabs imported 9,478 tons, up 912 tons, Pakistan imported 9,389 tons, down 3 tons. Import markets for white pepper were China: 5,697 tons, 3,492 tons from Germany, 2,978 tons from the United States, 2,205 tons from the Netherlands, 1,479 tons from Thailand and 1,093 tons from India, etc. The import volume dropped sharply in Sri Lanka from 2,681 tons. down to 153 tons, while Nepal increased by 2,591 tons to 4,509 tons.
