At the Sustainable Pepper Development Conference, meeting the requirements of free trade agreements, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh emphasized that the pepper industry is an important industry of Vietnam and has many advantages. With the world's No. 1 productivity, competitiveness is still very large.
“At this time, there are some difficulties, limitations, affecting production, affecting people's lives, many families have no capital to invest. Epidemics and other risks are the consequences of an increase in area heat.
The ministry suggested localities try to stabilize the area so that the whole country has about 100,000 ha. For areas of diseased, dead and ineffective plants, they do not replant and transfer to other crops such as mangosteen, avocado, mango … ”, Deputy Minister Doanh emphasized.
Also according to the Deputy Minister, the pepper industry needs to attach importance to the production quality, towards the organic model.
The Deputy Minister suggested that the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to support pepper production and processing enterprises in activities to enhance the value of the products. In the coming time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will work with the State Bank and ministries and branches to support farmers in production.
