Coffee prices rebounded after the World Coffee Organization estimated global coffee production for the 2017-20 crop to reach 158.56 million bags, down 1.3 percent from the previous crop. In particular, South America’s coffee output is forecast to fall 8.2 percent to 70.57 million bags.
Arabica coffee output is expected to fall 6.6% to 97.16 million bags. By contrast, Robusta production is forecast to increase 11.5% to 61.4 million bags.
Total coffee exports in May decreased 12.4% over the same period last year to 9.27 million bags. In particular, exports of robusta coffee decreased 4.4% to 3.65 million bags, arabica coffee exports decreased 17% to 5.62 million bags.
Update rubber prices
On the TOCOM (Japan), the price of rubber delivered in December at the end of the July 6 session increased 1.9% to 171.4 yen per kg. At the same time, on the SHFE (Shanghai) floor, the price of rubber delivered in September fell 20 yuan to 10,335 yuan / ton.
The price of SVR CV on July 6 was almost flat at 39,957 VND / kg. At the same time, the price of SVR L rubber remained unchanged at 37,458 VND / kg.
According to the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC), rubber demand and supply are forecast to be balanced, with 2018 production expected to rise by 6.1% to 14.2 million tons and consumption increased. 6.9% to 14.3 million tons.
