At present, Vietnam has finished the harvest in many localities. All market participants are collecting information about this year’s output situation to have a specific picture of the supply picture in the coming time.
Sales force increases at the end of the season, and more new crops come to the market, pulling the market down. After weeks of struggle in the price range of 95,000 VND/kg, many parties decided not to increase further and took profits immediately. People need money to invest in new crops, and money is flowing strongly into coffee.
Brazil has passed the harvest season, Vietnam has just ended, while the main harvest of Indonesia and Malaysia is in July every year. From now until July 2024, it can be said that the main supply of global pepper will depend on Vietnam’s exports.
Normally, in March every year, Vietnam’s export volume is always high, such as in March 2023, up to about 36 thousand tons. While in March this year there were only 25,579 tons of pepper of all kinds, a decrease of 28.8%.
Representative of Prosi Thang Long, said the world demand for pepper is always large. After a long period of downward pepper market in the previous period, importers did not accumulate much. Therefore, they are now increasing imports again because they fear that prices will increase further while supply in other countries decreases.
These two factors will simultaneously affect prices in the near future. If pepper prices in Vietnam increase, other countries will also increase, according to the newspaper Economy & Urban reported.
