Pepper prices today (February 6) simultaneously moved sideways in the range of 80,500 – 83,500 VND/kg.

Domestic pepper prices

According to the survey, pepper price in the domestic market fluctuates between 80,500 – 83,500 VND/kg.

Among them, the lowest price recorded was 80,500 VND/kg in Dong Nai province. Next is Gia Lai province with a price of 81,000 VND/kg.

The three provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Ba Ria – Vung Tau recorded the same price of 83,000 VND/kg.

Similar, Pepper price today in Binh Phuoc remains stable at 83,500 VND/kg.

World pepper prices

According to an update from the International Pepper Association (IPC) on February 5 (local time), the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) decreased by 0.13% compared to February 2.

At the same time, the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 and Kuching (Malaysia) ASTA black pepper remained stable.

At the same time of the survey, the price of Muntok white pepper decreased by 0.1% compared to the previous session, while Malaysian ASTA white pepper prices had no new adjustments.

Accordingly, in 2023, Vietnam will export 264,094 tons of pepper of all kinds, with a turnover of 906.5 million USD, an increase of 13.8% in volume but a decrease of 8% in turnover compared to 2022.

2023 is the third consecutive year that Olam Vietnam ranks first as Vietnam’s largest pepper exporter with a volume of 20,306 tons, accounting for 7.7% of the market share. However, the amount of pepper exported by this enterprise has decreased sharply by 30.3% compared to 2022.

Second is also an FDI enterprise, which is Nedspice Vietnam with 19,187 tons, an increase of 13.9% compared to 2022 and accounting for 7.3% of the market share.

Next is Pearl with 16,538 tons, down 35.7% and accounting for 6.3%; Phuc Sinh reached 15,802 tons, an increase of 6.6% and accounting for 6%; Haprosimex JSC reached 10,927 tons, down 14% and accounting for 4.1%.

Leading exporters of white pepper include: Nedspice Vietnam: 3,652, Olam Vietnam: 3,350 tons, Tran Chau: 2,305 tons, Lien Thanh: 2,010 tons and Phuc Sinh: 1,882 tons.

Overall, VPSA enterprises exported 179,919 tons of pepper of all kinds in 2023, down 5% compared to 2022 and accounting for 68.1% of the market share. Meanwhile, the export volume of businesses outside VPSA increased sharply by 98% to 84,175 tons and accounted for 31.9%.

There are many businesses that recorded a sudden increase in export volume such as Ly Hoang Son (+235.2%), Vu Duc Thuan (+13,919%)…

Notably, some businesses that do not export in 2022 but reach the top in 2023 such as: Dang Nguyen Ls, Ha Thi Bich Ngoc.
