Pepper price today (1/1) fluctuates in the range of 57,500 – 60,000 VND/kg. Last week, the pepper market recorded heterogeneous fluctuations. Compared to the beginning of the week, some places have an increase of 500 – 1,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price this week has had a new fluctuation after being quiet last week.

Compared to the beginning of the week, the purchase price in some key provinces increased by 500-1,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, Dong Nai adjusted to increase 1,000 VND/kg to 58,000 VND/kg.

After an increase of 500 VND/kg, the two provinces of Binh Phuoc and Ba Ria – Vung Tau now record prices of 59,000 VND/kg and 60,000 VND/kg, respectively.

Other localities, including Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Dak Nong, saw no changes in prices compared to the beginning of the week.

In which, the price of pepper in Gia Lai is 57,500 VND/kg, in the other two provinces it is 58,500 VND/kg.

According to the latest report from Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade)world pepper prices at the end of 2022 will decrease as European countries and the US enter the Christmas and New Year holidays in 2023.

In Brazil, on December 23, 2022, the export price of black pepper decreased by $125/ton compared to November 29, 2022, to $2,500/ton.

At the port of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, on December 23, 2022, the export price of black pepper 500g/l and 550g/l both decreased by $100/ton compared to November 29, 2022. at 3,050 USD/ton and 3,150 USD/ton.

The price of white pepper for export at the port of Ho Chi Minh City decreased by 50 USD/ton compared to November 29, 2022, to 4,550 USD/ton.

At Lampung ASTA port of Indonesia, on December 23, 2022, the export price of black pepper decreased by 188 USD/ton compared to 29/11/2022, to 3,589 USD/ton.

At the Indonesian port of Muntok, the export price of white pepper decreased by 21 USD/ton compared to November 29, 2022, to 5,928 USD/ton.

At the port of Kuching in Malaysia, on December 23, 2022, the export price of black pepper decreased by $200/ton compared to November 29, 2022, to $4,900/ton. Export price of white pepper was stable at $7,300/ton.

It is forecasted that in 2023, the world pepper price will continue to be under downward pressure due to low consumption demand and abundant supply.
