According to preliminary data reported by Vietnam Customs, pepper exports in April 2019 reached 37,305 tons of all kinds of pepper, an increase of 2,036 tons, ie an increase of 5.77% compared to the previous month and an increase of 10,472 tons, ie increased by 39.03% over the same period last year. Export turnover in the period reached 94.14 million USD, up 8.96 million USD, or 10.49 % higher than the same period last year.
The cumulative export of pepper in the first 4 months of 2019 reached a total of 108,195 tons, an increase of 21,485 tons, or an increase of 24.78% compared to the first 4 months of 2018. However, the export value of the first 4 months of 2019 reached a total of 283.59 million USD, down 23.02 million USD, or 7.51% decrease over the same period.
The average export price of pepper in the month reached $2,523/ton, down 0.51% compared to the average export price of March 2019.
