Ms. Hoang Thi Lien will officially assume the position on January 15, 2014, replacing Mr. Gunaratne WDL (Sri Lankan) as IPC Executive Director for 3 years from 2014 to 2016.

Vietnam has been a member of the International Pepper Federation since 2005, and since then the Executive Directors have been candidates from other countries such as Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka and so on. This is the first time Vietnam has been nominated and approved.

Hoang Thi Lien, 42 years old, is a Master in Development Economics, University of London (UK), who has extensive experience in international trade. Prior to being the Director General of the Multilateral Trade Ministry / Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mrs. Hoang Thi Lien was the first secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia for 6 years. Previously, she was Head of Southeast Asia Department of CSTMD / Ministry. As a result, IPC director Hoang Thi Lien will have a lot of experience in operating the operating apparatus of a highly connected international organization, IPC.
