To raise the value of Gia Lai coffee, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has launched the “Project to develop high-quality coffee in the period of 2021 – 2030”.
Accordingly, the goal is to meet the increasing demand for specialty coffee in domestic and export markets; while improving added value and competitiveness of Vietnamese coffee products on the world market, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s coffee industry.
Through this project, Gia Lai is one of two localities in the Central Highlands to receive benefits, helping to open up opportunities for Gia Lai coffee products to increase in value. The component of infrastructure investment to support cooperatives to develop coffee material areas is one of four components deployed in four localities, including: Dak Doa, Duc Co, Chu Prong, and Chu Pah associated with six contracts. cooperatives participate.
The project will invest in upgrading and renovating nearly 12km of roads in service of production, connecting raw material areas with processing zones and linking regions. Along with that, this component will also invest in building 3 material areas for purchasing and preserving high-quality coffee with a scale of 1,300 tons, creating a high consensus among the people.
