According to the Vietnam Wood and Forest Products Association (Viforest), the export turnover of bedroom furniture in October 2021 only reached US$53 million, down 77.2% compared to October 2020. In general, for the first 10 months of 2021, export turnover of bedroom furniture reached 1.62 billion USD, up 1.3% over the same period in 2020.
Beds and wardrobes for bedrooms are the two main export products, accounting for a high proportion in the structure of bedroom furniture in 2021. In which, export turnover of beds and bed parts leads at 875 $0.2 million in the first three quarters of the year, up 15.7% over the same period in 2020, accounting for 55.7% of the total export turnover of bedroom furniture.
Next is the wardrobe used in the bedroom with 437.7 million USD of export turnover in the first 3 quarters of the year; increased by 11.7% over the same period in 2020, accounting for 27.9% of the total export turnover of bedroom furniture.
Some other bedroom furniture items are also exported but only account for a small proportion such as: bedside cabinets accounted for 7.6%; the table used in the bedroom accounted for 3.3%; dressing table accounted for 1.5%; wardrobe accounted for 1.4%.
Regarding the export market of bedroom furniture in the past 10 months, the turnover to the US market accounted for the largest proportion, reaching 1.3 billion USD, up 20.2% over the same period in 2020. According to data from the General Department of Customs, the export turnover of kitchen furniture in October 2021 reached 56 million USD, which was equal to October 2020. Accumulating 10 months of 2021, the export turnover of this item reached 736.9 million USD, up 24.5% over the same period in 2020.
Previously, the export turnover of kitchen furniture in September 2021 reached 50.2 million USD, down 30.5% compared to September 2020. Export turnover of kitchen furniture to the US market accounted for the largest proportion, reaching 527.9 million USD in the first 3 quarters of the year, up 41% over the same period in 2020.
While the export turnover of kitchen furniture increased sharply to the EU, UK, Canada and China markets in the first nine months of 2021, the export turnover of this item to Japan, South Korea and Australia decreased.
Kitchen cabinets are the main export item in the structure of exported kitchen furniture, reaching $510.4 million, up 39.9% over the same period in 2020.
