In Indonesia, the price of bucket pepper in Lampung and Sarawak regions, farmers also sold at 38,500 Rupiah/kg, or about $4,450/ton. In Brazil at the same time, the domestic price of pepper was stable at 7.75 Real/kg, or about 4,800 USD/ton. Meanwhile, in Chu Se, Gia Lai costs 101,000 VND/kg and in Ba Ria-Vung Tau it is 103,000 VND/kg.
By the afternoon of April 8, when it was reported that Chinese merchants had come to the garden’s house to “give money to porridge”, the price of pepper in buckets in Chu Se, Gia Lai rose to 110,000 VND/kg and in Chau Duc, Ms. Ria-Vung Tau is 112,000 VND/kg, at an unexpected price that goes up so quickly.
Meanwhile, the price of white pepper for export also in Ba Ria-Vung Tau is 125-130,000 VND/kg and red pepper, a specialty pepper, is 165-170,000 VND/kg.
At the end of the first quarter, the Vietnam Pepper Association has made a forecast, the price of pepper in buckets may be up to 120,000-130,000 VND/kg and the export price of pepper may be up to 8,000 USD/ton.
