Since the beginning of March, durian prices in the West increased by an average of 20,000 – 50,000 VND/kg. Even so, export activities are still fluttering with yellow o.

At this time, early ripe durian gardens in the West began to harvest. Many gardeners in Tien Giang and Ben Tre are happy when the price of fruit buying has increased sharply compared to the previous month. Traders purchased at Ri6 garden level 80,000 VND/kg, an increase of about 20,000 VND/kg compared to the end of the month; Meanwhile, durian varieties ranging from 120,000 to 150,000 VND/kg depending on the type, an average increase of 50,000 VND/kg.

Some enterprises said that the Chinese market has “eaten goods” again, so the export activities are somewhat more convenient so that the price increases. However, at present, export activities are still very difficult because there must be a product testing certificate no longer residues of y and cadimi gold residues; Therefore, the purchasing after harvest must also select and comply with regulations.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of Vietnam Vegetable Association: Our durian export activities have flourished right at the time when the Western gardeners are preparing to enter the harvest of the durian. However, many businesses are still puffed up because of the regulations on testing of gold and cadmi because in the past, the world durian industry used to use y gold in post -harvest handling. But since scientists have discovered its harmful effects, the world has not had a safer product to replace. At the end of February, in Chanthaburi (Thailand), a series of events of ASEAN – China durian exhibitions took place, all countries have the same concern about not finding any techniques and chemicals better in handling and preserving durian after harvest. This is still a common concern of the world durian industry.
