With the role of a management ministry in technology and communication, especially postal management – the field with a mission to ensure the material flow in parallel with the data flow of the digital economy and digital society. , the Ministry of Information and Communications quickly took the initiative to get involved.

Right in May and June 2021, the Ministry of Information and Communications has implemented many solutions to successfully support the consumption of Thanh Ha lychee (Hai Duong), Bac Giang lychee, and many other fruits and agricultural products. in the northern provinces and cities. With experiences accumulated from practice, on July 21, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Decision No. 1034/QD-BTTTT approving the Plan to support agricultural production on the e-commerce platform, promoting develop the agricultural and rural digital economy, with 3 main contents: Support to put agricultural production households on the e-commerce platform; support to promote the consumption of agricultural products; providing information and input materials for production and business.

Also on July 21, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Official Letter No. 2685/BTTTT-QLDN to the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities on support to put agricultural production households on the e-commerce platform, promoting business rural agriculture and ensure the supply of essential goods during the pandemic.

And in the context that the Covid-19 epidemic in the southern provinces continues to break out strongly, the Ministry of Information and Communications has actively coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize an “online forum connecting supply and demand of crop products in the context of Covid-19. -19” to promote the inter-regional consumption of southern fruit products.

Attending the Forum on the afternoon of July 29, there will be members of Working Group 970; representatives of the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Mekong Delta, the Southeast; Department of Industry and Trade and Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; representatives of cooperatives, businesses, associations of the crop industry; representatives of distributors, supermarket chains, retailers…

The forum not only connects supply and demand information to promote the consumption of agricultural products in the southern provinces to big cities and other provinces in the central and northern regions; receive feedback from the locality and assist in solving difficulties in production, circulation and consumption of fruit products; but also create a foundation for building an online program “connecting supply and demand” in agricultural production on a monthly basis.

It is known that on the afternoon of July 27, the two ministries of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Industry and Trade also had a working session to strengthen coordination in the supply of goods and put agricultural products on the e-commerce floor.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai directed the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy to act as the focal point and coordinate with units of the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to agree on a plan to support farmers in organizing distribution. distribute agricultural products and local specialties on e-commerce platforms as well as gradually organize activities to promote the export of goods through cross-border e-commerce.

Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai highly appreciated the fact that two large postal enterprises, Vietnam Post Corporation (Vietnam Post) and Viettel Post Joint Stock Company (Viettel Post), have effectively deployed normal selling points. stabilize prices, transport goods, quickly bring mobile vehicles to the epidemic center to reduce the pressure of supplying essential goods to the people.

On the side of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Deputy Minister Pham Anh Tuan pledged to promote coordination between units of the two ministries, and will establish a special working group on information and communication during the epidemic to increase the efficiency of goods supply. agricultural products on the e-commerce floor in the near future.
