The cumulative export volume of pepper in the first 3 months of 2023 reached a total of 76,193 tons of pepper of all kinds, an increase of 23,074 tons, or an increase of 43.44% compared to the export volume of the first 3 months of 2022.
In terms of export turnover in the first 3 months of 2023, it reached a total of 233.45 million USD, down 14.94 million USD, or 6.02% down over the same period.
The average export price of pepper in March 2023 reached USD 2,978/ton, down 0.90 % compared to the average export price of February 2023.
China continues to be Vietnam’s leading pepper import market, while traditional import markets also increased their purchases to compensate for the reduced stockpiling volume during the 2023 New Year holiday.
Pepper farmers in the Central Highlands are entering the final harvest stage of the crop, the number of new goods sold to the market is increasing, but the purchasing power is still stable, which has not caused the price to drop as usual.
