Specifically, in April 2021, the export turnover of agriculture, forestry and fishery groups was estimated at 2.167 billion USD, down 10.6% compared to March 2021 and down 6.4% over the same period in 2020, accounting for 8.5% of total exports. Generally, in the first four months of the year, the export turnover of this group of goods is estimated at 8.25 billion USD, up 7.9% over the same period in 2020.

In which, the export turnover of seafood and vegetables recorded a recovery, increasing by 6.1% and 9.5% over the same period in 2020, reaching US$2.39 billion and US$1.35 billion.

In particular, rubber exports in the first 4 months of 2021 increased by 79.6% in volume and 111.6% in value over the same period in 2020, reaching 486 thousand tons, worth 817 million USD. In addition, the export of cassava and cassava products also increased by 13.9% in volume and 23.9 in value over the same period in 2020.

Meanwhile, rice exports also achieved positive results although the volume decreased, but the export price increased sharply in the first 4 months of 2021, with the volume reaching 1.89 million tons, worth 1.01 billion USD. , down 10.8% in volume but up 1.2% in value over the same period in 2020.

The average export price of rice in the first 4 months of 2021 reached 534 USD/ton, up 13.4% over the same period in 2020. Similarly, in the first 4 months of 2021, pepper exports reached 92,000 tons, worth price of 274 million USD, down 21.3% in volume but up 10.3% in value over the same period in 2020.

Cashew nut is the only commodity with an increase of 8.6% in volume but a decrease of 7.4% in value over the same period in 2020. The reason is that the average export price of cashew nuts in the first 4 months of 2021 has decreased by 14 .7% over the same period in 2020, reaching 5,878 USD/ton.

About export market: The US is Vietnam’s largest export market in the first 4 months of this year with a turnover of US$ 30.26 billion, up 50.1% over the same period last year. Next is China with 16.84 billion USD, up 32.4%.

The EU market reached 12.55 billion USD, up 18.1%. The ASEAN market reached US$ 8.75 billion, up 13.3%. Korea reached 6.9 billion USD, up 12.1%. Japan reached 6.5 billion USD, up 1.5%.
