In order to fulfill the target of exporting 44 billion USD in agricultural, forestry and fishery products in 2021, in the last months of the year, ministries, sectors and localities are trying to implement many solutions to speed up production and open up the market. .

Positive signals

According to General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, Dang Phuc Nguyen, the export of vegetables and fruits, despite many difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, still grew significantly from exports to European and American markets. , Northeast Asia, the Middle East… The good news is that if before, vegetables and fruits for export depended heavily on the Chinese market with the proportion of about 70%, now it has decreased to 58%.

Data from the General Statistics Office shows that, in the 10 months of 2021, the export turnover of agriculture, forestry and fishery reached 37.5 billion USD, up 13.1% over the same period last year. Many products and product groups have increased export value, such as: Coffee, rubber, vegetables, pepper, cashew nuts, livestock products, wood products; bamboo and rattan… The US is now the largest export market of Vietnamese agricultural products.

Specifically, in the 10 months of 2021, the value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products exported to this market reached over 10.8 billion USD, far ahead of the second China market with nearly 7.5 billion USD. Notably, Vietnam is the 11th largest rubber supplier to the US with over 30,000 tons, up more than 90% over the same period last year. Vegetables, fruits, rice, aquatic products, and wood products exported to the US and European markets have also increased strongly since the beginning of the year.

Assessing the picture of agricultural exports, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan said that the shift in export markets and the improvement of product quality have helped agriculture become a sustainable growth industry in the context of the global pandemic. To create a driving force to promote production and business development, the Government has issued Resolution No. 105/NQ-CP on supporting enterprises, cooperatives and business households in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic. This is considered a fulcrum for industries and businesses to promptly propose solutions to promote production and export of agricultural products in the last months of 2021 and the following time.

According to General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association Dang Phuc Nguyen, localities need to have policies to support agricultural enterprises to restore production.
