Specifically, the price of Robusta coffee continues to plummeted 6.9% to 4,865 USD/ton, marking the third consecutive week, the price of Arabica coffee also fell to 5.7% to 8,061 USD/ton.

The latest forecasts of global coffee supply continue to put pressure on this price. According to Conab, Brazilian coffee production 2025-2026 is expected to increase by 2.7% compared to the previous year, while USDA also forecasts that Honduras and Uganda coffee exports have increased by 2.6%, while El Salvador recorded a slight increase.

This movement causes the market to reconsider the prospect of supply in the coming time and contribute to pulling the price of coffee in recent weeks.

Regarding the harvest progress, Brazil is currently entering the Robusta coffee harvest, while Indonesia has also started to harvest Robusta, increasing the pressure to decrease the market. It is expected that the Arabica coffee harvest in Brazil will start from mid -month. According to the same period last year, as of May 21, 2024, about 22% of the Robusta planting area and 15% of Arabica area in Brazil were harvested, showing that this year’s harvest progress was happening in the right pace.

At the domestic exam, today (May 19), the price of coffee in the domestic market continued to slip the third consecutive session. The current popular price ranges from 123,800 – 124,700 VND/kg, down 500 – 700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Dak Lak and Gia Lai traded at VND 124,500/kg, simultaneously decreased by VND 500/kg. Lam Dong is the locality to record the lowest price with 123,800 VND/kg, a deep down 700 VND/kg.

Dak Nong has the highest price, reaching 124,700 VND/kg, down 500 VND/kg. Extending a series of deeply discounted days, the starting price at the beginning of the week continues to lower 500 VND/kg, losing short recovery momentum from the middle of the month.
