Before that, at the beginning of April, Chinese traders, also using the same form of purchase and payment, “overflowed” into the famous pepper area of the Central Highlands, Chu Se district, to buy pepper from the garden and use cars. Cars, passenger cars carry 500-1,000 kg, then gather at a certain transshipment point to use large trucks to transport to the northern border.
Collectors are quite generous, often paying 1-2% higher than the market price, and paying cash on the spot, so farmers are ready to sell immediately.
Chu Se Pepper Association said that even if buying at a higher price, illegal buyers still benefit because if they buy the main road with an invoice, as evidenced by domestic agents, they will have to pay a tax rate of 5%. .
There are still no official statistics, but the Che Se Pepper Association estimates that in many localities of Gia Lai, up to 50% of pepper is purchased by Chinese traders in this form.
Chairman of the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA), Mr. Do Ha Nam, said that almost all pepper production from the North Central Coast and the North Central Highlands region is purchased by Chinese traders in such a way.
