On March 12, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 662/QD-BCT on the results of reviewing the application of anti-trade defense measures for some cane sugar products (Code AR01.AC02-AD13.AS01).

The Ministry of Industry and Trade started investigating the review from September 2024 on the basis of the proposal of the Vietnam Sugar Association submitted in November 2023.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Sugar Association proposed the investigating agency to review the application of anti -commercial defense measures to apply to the cane sugar products of PT Company. Kebun Tebu Mas (Indonesia) produced and export to Vietnam. At the same time, the Association proposed that this type of company out of the list does not apply measures to avoid defending measures under the Decision No. 1514/QD-BCT effective from August 2022.

The reason is that the company shows signs of evading the trade defense measures that are applying to sugarcane products from Thailand.
